In this year's National People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the former vice president of the Chinese Medical Association Wu Mingjiang submitted a proposal “comprehensive efforts to promote the enhancement of medical devices in China, innovation and development”. The proposal centered on medical device basic research, standard system construction, effective combination of production and demand, encourage the development of domestic medical devices and other aspects of a number of recommendations.

Wu Mingjiang said that as of the end of 2015, there are more than 14,000 medical device manufacturers in China, of which nearly 90% have a production scale of less than 20 million yuan, only 300 more than 100 million yuan, and there are more than 2,600 enterprises that can produce higher-end products.

Relevant government departments through strengthening top-level design, build production and demand communication platform, promote production, learning, research, medical interaction and scientific and technological research, so that a number of core equipment and key components to achieve localization, part of the domestic market share of medical equipment to effectively enhance. At the same time, it has strengthened the basic and important engineering technology research in the industry, and strengthened the industrialization and application engineering technology research and service capacity building of special manufacturing equipment, testing equipment, process technology, reliability research, stability research and other industrialization engineering technology research and service capacity building required for the mass production of medical devices.
